What Easter means to me

As a young child Easter was always fun! Eggs, candy and a family picnic. Easter was also church. I always had a Easter speech to remember and recite. I recall getting my hair pressed by my Mom and my Dad coming to save me at times. LOL  I always had a new outfit to wear on Easter Sunday. My Mother would cook a large dinner and bake great desserts. I could hardly wait until Sunday came!

I grew up in the Church so I knew the meaning of Easter however as a child it represented fun! I would hear the Mother’s of the Church  testify about the cross. I recall them even singing about the cross. The saints said we would understand it better as we got older.

Let’s fast forward to now…

As an adult Easter means so much more! The Mother’s of the Church said it best and I now get it. Thank you Jesus for the ultimate sacrifice at Calvary!  I can’t express my gratitude enough and there are no words to describe it; only a praise of thanks to you Lord!

Resurrection Sunday is also an example to me in that, because GOD got up from the grave, I have the power to get up from any situation. Because I’m his and because of the blood that Jesus shed on the cross for our sins, I’m covered, protected and it keeps me safe from hurt, harm and danger.

Lord, your love for us is Amazing…the perfect love story. Agape Love, Unconditional Love, the highest form of Love!
